Glass Railings in Miami

Glass Railings in Miami for Waterfront Homes, Condos and Hospitality

In Miami, the railing sits between people and the reason they came: Biscayne Bay, the Atlantic, a skyline lit up at night. A heavy picket rail wastes that view. Brisk Architectural engineers, fabricates and installs frameless glass railings for Miami’s high-rise balconies, penthouse terraces, waterfront homes, rooftop pool decks and hotel stairs. Each system is detailed for the architecture and the coastal conditions.

Built for Miami's Coastal Conditions

Here is how we approach a Miami railing:

  • Wind exposure. Higher floors and open waterfront lots see the strongest wind loads. For those locations we specify thick laminated glass and systems built for high-wind and high-rise use.
  • Salt air. Hardware choices matter near the ocean. Options include marine-grade standoff hardware, corrosion-resistant stainless steel components and anodized or powder-coated aluminum.
  • Documentation. Miami-Dade County is in Florida’s High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, so engineering matters. Brisk provides an engineering calculation package for every project, with signed and sealed calculations for coastal M10 installations.
  • Clean design. Frameless glass suits modern towers and Art Deco restorations alike.

Choosing a System for Your Miami Project

Condo balconies and penthouse terraces

For slab-edge balconies in Brickell, Edgewater or Sunny Isles Beach, a side-mounted system keeps the hardware out of the walking surface and below the sightline. The M4 side-mounted glass railing sets the glass at floor level and uses thicker laminated glass suited to oceanfront and high-wind areas. The M13 side-mounted railing uses Brisk’s proprietary weather-resistant track with thick laminated safety glass and optional LED lighting.

New construction

If the slab has not been poured yet, consider the M15 concealed track glass railing. The track is installed before the concrete pour, so the finished railing looks like glass rising straight out of the floor.

Pool decks, rooftops and waterfront patios

The M9 spigot glass railing lifts the glass on stainless steel spigots with full drainage, so water does not collect after a summer storm. The M1 base shoe railing can replace a traditional metal pool fence without closing off the view from the house. For a curved pool or spa edge, the M6 standoff system can carry curved laminated glass, as on the pool deck at Santa Maria Condominium in Brickell.

Lobbies, interior stairs and retail

For hotel lobbies, Design District showrooms and residential stairs, the M6 standoff railing gives an all-glass look on marine-grade hardware. The M8 dual-point standoff, M7 lateral bracket, M12 top-mounted track with integrated LED options, and the Inox stainless steel railing round out the range.

M10 for Miami's Most Exposed Balconies and Terraces

When the location is fully exposed, such as an oceanfront terrace, an upper-floor amenity deck or a bayfront estate, we recommend the M10 base shoe glass railing, engineered for hurricanes. The M10 is a top-mount-only aluminum shoe that grips glass along its entire length. It accepts one glass makeup only: 10+10 mm tempered laminated glass. Adjustable setting blocks and EPDM gaskets let our installers align every panel, and an optional round handrail can be prepped for LED lighting.

Engineering is calculated for your site. M10 installations can be backed by signed and sealed calculations covering the glass, base shoe and anchorage for that location’s wind loads. For reference, at a Palm Beach Gardens clubhouse the M10 was engineered for a 180 mph ultimate design wind speed under the 2020 Florida Building Code. The M10 has an 8-week lead time.

Finishes That Fit Miami Design

The M10 base shoe comes in stainless steel anodized, clear anodized, or powder coat in any RAL color. Match a crisp white Miami Beach facade, a dark modern frame or a hospitality brand color, and pair it with low-iron glass for the most neutral view of the water.

Miami-Area Projects

Santa Maria Condominium, Brickell (completed)

At Santa Maria Condominium, 1643 Brickell Avenue, Brisk furnished and installed frameless glass railings around the pool and spa deck for general contractor Pro-Max Restoration and Paint Corp. The M6 standoff glass railing carried 1″ low-iron tempered laminated curved glass on stainless steel standoffs at a 42″ minimum height, in a stainless steel finish. The shop drawings carried signed and sealed engineering from JEI Structural.

BaseCamp305, Miami Beach (in progress)

Brisk also works indoors. At BaseCamp305, 251 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach, we are furnishing and installing interior glass partitions for general contractor Turner Construction Company and owner 251 Washington, LLC, on a project designed by Arquitectonica. The scope includes Allure double-glazed glass partitions and doors, Aries single-glazed partitions, and smart glass in selected rooms, including classroom spaces. This project is currently in progress.

Frenchman's Creek Clubhouse, Palm Beach Gardens (completed)

Further up the coast in Palm Beach Gardens, Brisk installed M10 glass guardrails engineered for hurricanes across the balconies and exterior stairs of the new Frenchman’s Creek clubhouse for owner Frenchman’s Creek, Inc., working with general contractor Proctor Construction Company and architect Peacock + Lewis. The stainless steel-finished system uses 42″ clear laminated glass with a SentryGlas interlayer, and an M6 railing with low-iron glass serves the interior monument stair. The project was completed in January 2026. See the Frenchman’s Creek case study or view all projects.

How a Miami Project Comes Together

  1. Send your drawings. Share the address, scope and plans through our quote form.
  2. Field measure and detail. We verify dimensions and prepare shop and tag drawings.
  3. Engineer. We prepare the engineering calculation package, signed and sealed where required, giving your architect, building management and permit reviewer one clear set of documents.
  4. Select samples. You approve glass and handrail samples before fabrication.
  5. Fabricate. Your system is made to the approved drawings. M10 ships in 8 weeks.
  6. Install in two stages. Our certified installers set the base shoe or track first and the glass second, so the railing fits around other trades.
  7. Hand over. Your finished railing is backed by our warranty.

Miami Glass Railing FAQs

Which glass railing works best for a Miami condo balcony?

Side-mounted systems such as the M4 and M13 keep hardware off the balcony floor and use thick laminated glass for high-wind locations. For fully exposed terraces, the M10 base shoe glass railing is engineered for hurricanes.

Do you provide engineering for glass railings in Miami-Dade?

Yes. Brisk provides an engineering calculation package for every project. M10 installations can be backed by signed and sealed calculations for the glass, base shoe and anchorage based on your site's wind loads.

How do glass railings handle Miami's salt air?

We select hardware and finishes for coastal exposure, including marine-grade standoff hardware, corrosion-resistant stainless steel components, and anodized or powder-coated aluminum.

How long does it take to get an M10 railing?

The M10 has an 8-week lead time. Lead times for other systems are confirmed with your quote.
